[7/28/11 - Hunting Trip I, Campaign]
Howdy pardner. Care to sit down for a spell and listen to a story? Great! Well, let's see now...I think I'll tell you about an interesting hunting story that I just went through today...
There I was right outside of the town of Escalera, and I was a little shy on funds for the Bolt-Action Rifle I wanted to purchase from the local gunsmith. So I decided to do a little night run for some pelts, meat and other various animal parts. I walked down a mid-size hill with my trusty Winchester Repeater in hand, a poncho over my shoulders, and a prayer that I would find some decent animals, when suddenly, I noticed a campfire near a good-size rock. I noticed a lonely man sitting down, eating an apple, so I decided to scrounge the area for birds or varmints.
Eventually I saw pack of four coyotes, and they attacked! One managed to bite down on my arm, but I used my sharpshooting skills and managed to pick them off. I skinned and scavenged what I could and suddenly more coyotes showed up! I quickly dealt with those as well, skinning them. Two men soon showed up on horseback after I killed a few birds and skunks, and they were being harassed by wolves! Now wolves are harder to kill and more vicious then coyotes, and before I realized it, the wolves had killed one of the man's horses and had bitten the man on the leg! So I quickly pulled out my Schofield Revolver and blasted a hole in the head of the wolf charging me, but it was too late...the man I had tried to rescue had died, and his friend had rode off. I skinned his horse, the wolves and took the money from his saddlebag, and by then, it was sunrise. I ran into five more wolves and a couple of deer, killing and skinning what I could...and sold the pelts, meat and accessories to the local pharmacy, soon after, I purchased my Bolt-Action Rifle.
I hope that hunting trip wasn't too boring for you, Greenhorn. Until next time!
